These terms cover the Umbra — Solar Eclipse 2026 mobile app (dev.lluis.umbra) and this website, operated by Lluís Gassó Villarejo.
The 12 August 2026 solar eclipse has now passed. The Umbra mobile app will be decommissioned at the end of 31 December 2026 (Europe/Madrid). New distribution through Google Play is being discontinued. Unpublishing removes availability to new users; it does not uninstall the app from existing users' devices or, by itself, revoke their purchases.
From 1 January 2027, routine app maintenance, feature updates and app-specific online services will end, except where continued provision is required by applicable law or existing purchase commitments. Features that work entirely offline may remain usable on devices where the app is already installed, but continued compatibility with future devices or operating-system versions is not guaranteed. This notice does not announce closure of the website.
Existing paid unlocks, including Penumbra and Antumbra, will not be deliberately revoked solely because the app is unpublished. This notice does not retrospectively shorten any entitlement promised when you purchased, waive your statutory consumer rights, or exclude any right to a refund or other remedy under applicable law or the relevant app store's policies.
If retirement affects a feature you paid for, or you have a question about your purchase, contact lluisgasso@gmail.com with your Google Play order ID and a description of the issue; do not send card details. Purchase and statutory-rights enquiries remain available through that address after retirement and will be assessed individually. Keep your purchase receipt and save any information you wish to retain before the retirement date.
Umbra estimates how good a spot may be for watching the eclipse, from sun geometry, terrain, and historical cloud climatology. It is provided “as is”, with no warranty of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. Conditions on the day — weather, access, crowds — may differ. Plan accordingly and use your own judgement.
Never look at the Sun without certified ISO 12312-2 eclipse glasses, except during the brief total phase. You are responsible for your own safety.
We are not liable for any loss, travel cost, or missed eclipse arising from use of this site or its data.
